Plums

We are transitioning to a spreadsheet version of our catalog in order to provide regular updates about availability of plant inventory. You can use the pull down menus at the top to sort and search. I'm not deleting the old list yet, so please excuse the extra clutter in the meantime. Please let us know what you think about the new spreadsheet format. Thanks so much!

Asian Plums

Grafted trees are $16 in Gallon* pots.  We occasionally have quarts available for $10 or 2-gallon* pots for $26.

Most European and Japanese plums are extremely prone to insect and disease problems in the Midwest.  However, many of our customers still ask for them so we have decided to offer a few varieties that supposedly have more resistance to fruit rots.  European plums tend to have a more upright growth habit like pears, while Japanese plums are more spreading like a peach tree.  Grafted onto Myrobalan 29-C which makes a full-sized (15-25’ tall x wide) tree that is very tolerant of wet soils and is resistant to various plum root diseases. Space 15’-20’ apart.

We do not ship plants. To reserve plants please either call us, or email us , and schedule an appointment to pick them up. We can also DELIVER  for a fee to our general region.

*size designations are nominal. We use “trade gallons” (which are slightly less than a gallon) as well as recycled pots that may vary in exact size.  Every plant may not be available in every size listed.  Gallons are common for grafted trees and quarts are most common for everything else.  There are usually a very limited number of two gallon plants available – first come first serve.
